Africa Around Our Necks

You know what continually amazes me about blogging?  I am amazed by the fact that although we may never meet face to face, although we may never "really" know each other in "real" life, we have a VERY REAL community going on here.  I know that I have felt the love when I have needed it desperately and I hope that I have been able to give a little in return.

My blogging friend Deena totally surprised me a couple of weeks ago when a package arrived for Avé and I just in time for our birthdays!  This is what we found inside:

Deena is making these super fun necklaces and key chains to raise money for an orphanage in Africa- and they are adorable!!!  I've already purchased several items and hidden them away to give my kids as stocking stuffers.  100% of the proceeds will benefit the Love in Action Orphanage.  Isn't that great?  I just love it.  And I love that Deena and her daughter Grace (AKA Avé's twin!) were so kind and thoughtful as to send these great necklaces to us for our birthday!  Amazing!!!

Go to Deena's blog right now and order some of these fun items!  (I stole this pic right off her blog w/o asking!  Sorry!)

Avé wanted to say THANKS to Grace- but she got camera shy when I started filming.  Well, not shy exactly, more like "camera goofy".  Her language skills are actually much better than what is demonstrated in this short video, but here is her thanks- just as it came out today!

Thank you Deena and Grace.

And thank you blogging for bringing all of us together.
